Soul feeds my spirit. My love for the soulful life begins in Harare Zim in my early toddler years of the sweet and cool 80s. My father an avid and religious collector of the best wax of the time from Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, The OJays, Junior, Earth Wind & Fire, Teddy P (the master), Barry White, James Brown, The Commodores, Evelyn Champagne King . Sunday mornings were always a soul set by DJ Dad. This has not changed till today. The hip-hop blend was there with the introduction of Rappers Delight, Grandmaster flash & the furious five.
The love grew further into the 80s androgynous era with the arrival of 80s funk Shalamar, Slave, the Gap Band, The Fatback Band, SOS Band, later coming the others like Ashford and Simpson wow!!! What can I say the love grew stronger? I will be introducing and sharing the new blend of funk as put out by my UK posse Soulpersona, Freesia and the US crew .
The love for soul has never left, it feeds my spirit, my desire is to spread soul and hopefully spread love . I’ve endeavoured on a personal mission to share the best and the greatest music out from the least known artists including my very own sister whom I share this amazing love for music .I undoubtedly know that its in the blood.
